Bleaching

The whiteness of your teeth is an important part of your smile — a bright smile can make you look better and feel more confident. There are two primary methods for whitening your teeth, each with its own advantages.

In-Office “Power Bleaching”
In-office bleaching usually takes single office visit, and is often the fastest and most convenient method for whitening your teeth. We isolate your teeth, and apply a powerful bleaching agent to the surface. We then apply a powerful computerized light to your teeth, which releases oxygen and immediately whitens most teeth.

At-Home Bleaching
At-home bleaching is a slower, self-controlled process which can be significantly more effective than over-the-counter home-based treatments you may have tried. Unlike an over-the-counter treatment, professional at-home bleaching is customized for your teeth, and includes the supervision of dental professionals to ensure the process is working optimally.

We begin by taking impressions of your teeth, which allows for the construction of custom appliances called bleaching trays. A special chemical whitening gel, which you apply to the bleaching trays at night, whitens your teeth while you sleep. After we have constructed your bleaching trays, we fit the trays to your teeth during a second visit. We provide you with the whitening gel, and explain how to perform the rest of the process at home, including specific instructions on how to administer the gel and how often to wear your trays.

Follow the directions carefully and continue to maintain proper oral hygiene through brushing and flossing. Maximum aesthetic results will be obtained in most cases two weeks after following the specified procedure.
