Bonding
< Back to Cosmetic Dentistry Services
Cracked, decayed and chipped teeth are common, and other problems such as grinding your teeth, brushing too vigorously or just bad luck can all flaw your smile. Whatever the cause, many damaged or disfigured teeth can be restored in one office visit.
Dental bonding, also known as direct adhesion, is a simple procedure which alters the appearance of teeth by applying a hard resin to the outer surface. Once applied, the resin is shaped and hardened to be indistinguishable from the rest of your teeth. This procedure can fill in gaps between teeth, fix chipped teeth, alter the shape of teeth and improve the appearance of discolored teeth. It is less involved than a veneer or crown, and usually does not require anesthesia.
Direct adhesion methods maximally preserve the existing natural tooth structures. Properly cared for and not abused, these materials will last for years, and provide you with a new smile you’ll be proud to show off.
