Dr. Joseph E. Gendler’s professional education and experience alone are sufficient to distinguish him in the field of dentistry — but it is his commitment to continuing professional education that has shaped Gendler Dental Center and set the tone for every member of the team.

For Dr. Gendler, that path began with double dental degrees — the first from the Tver Medical Institute of Russia, and then another from New York University School of Dentistry in 1997. With a strong professional focus on the dental implantology, cosmetics and sedation, he has continued taking advanced courses in the latest techniques and technology in modern dentistry, consistently seeking out world-renowned leaders and pioneers with whom to study.

Dr. Gendler’s ongoing pursuit of professional knowledge makes him one of few dentists to gain world-class proficiency in each of the disparate fields of Implantlogy, Functional Esthetics and Sedation. He established Gendler Dental Center in October of 1998.

Dr. Goulding grew up in a small town in North Dakota, where the values of community and service were instilled early on. He earned his Bachelor’s degree, graduating magna cum laude, from the University of North Dakota before pursuing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2007. Driven by a desire to serve those who have served, he completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, refining his skills and deepening his understanding of complex dental care for diverse needs. Dr. Goulding’s passion for equitable care led him to North Point Health & Wellness Center, where he spent several years serving the underserved community of North Minneapolis. Dr. Goulding joined Gendler Dental Center in 2013.

Dr. Goulding is highly skilled in a wide array of dental procedures including traditional crowns, bridges, root canals, fillings, removable prosthetics, and extractions. A firm believer in continuing education, Dr. Goulding regularly attends national and local seminars led by top industry leaders, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest advancements in dental care. With advanced training, he is able to provide services such as smile design, veneers, full-mouth rehabilitations, and implant placement and restoration. He is certified in Invisalign, ClearCorrect, and Six Month Smiles, offering customized orthodontic solutions. With eight years of experience in Botox, he is able to treat patients both esthetically and therapeutically for TMJ and facial pain.

Dr. Goulding has devoted nearly two decades to enhancing lives through dentistry, combining experience with genuine compassion for his patients. He is committed to creating a welcoming environment for patients of all backgrounds and prides himself on tailoring treatment plans to each individual. He is passionate about empowering his patients with knowledge, explaining their conditions and treatment options in a thorough, comfortable, and approachable manner. His ultimate goal is to help every patient achieve a healthy, beautiful smile that boosts confidence and enhances quality of life.

Outside of work, Dr. Goulding enjoys spending time with family and friends. A novice guitarist and fitness enthusiast, he also loves discovering new restaurants, exploring photography, and traveling. He is also Snoopy’s self-proclaimed biggest fan and embraces the highs and lows of being a Minnesota professional sports fan. He continues to volunteer at Hope Dental Clinic, providing essential care to those in need.

Dr. Galina Yakovlev is a compassionate and dedicated dentist who places her patients’ well-being at the center of everything she does. With a warm, patient-focused approach, she takes the time to understand each individual’s unique needs, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable with every step of their care. Dr. Galina believes in providing comprehensive and conservative treatment plans tailored to the best interests of her patients.

She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, followed by earning her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the same university. During her studies, she received recognition for her outstanding clinical and academic performance, including awards for Excellence in Clinical Endodontics and Oral Biology. After graduation, Dr. Galina furthered her training by completing a General Practice Residency at MHealth/University of Minnesota Medical Center, where she gained advanced training in treating medically complex patients.

Dr. Galina is committed to ongoing education, regularly attending a wide range of continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in dentistry. This dedication allows her to provide the highest quality of care to her patients, using the most current techniques and practices. Outside of work, Dr. Galina and her husband, Mike, are busy parents to two energetic daughters. They enjoy taking family road trips, trying out new restaurants, and spending time together at home. When the kids are finally settled, Dr. Galina and Mike like to unwind by catching up on shows or movies—though they don’t always make it to the end after a long day!
